New Year New You

I'm the kind of person who likes plans, routines, and stability - so not knowing where I'm going or what I'm doing is a bit scary.  It's also strangely exhilarating!  I'm thoroughly enjoying getting up whenever I wake up in the morning and pleasing myself all day long.  Having oodles of free time allows me to potter about doing random acts of community kindness - clearing the huge dump of seaweed left by the recent super-high tides on the shore road, sawing up a fallen tree on the nature trail and turning it into firewood for a neighbour.  I'm positively glowing with goodness.

I'm still involved with the Community Trust to a vey limited extent until the end of this month - handing over the bunkhouse project to our very competent new Project Manager, and helping to recruit the new Development Officer.  If you're interested, details of the job are on the Isle of Rum website!  I'm finding it helpful to have a little bit of structure to my weeks, but have to be very careful not to get drawn into doing other things - otherwise what was the point in resigning?  A shiver of excitement ran through the village this week when The Machines arrived ready to clear the site for the bunkhouse.  It is beginning!

I've gone back to my yoga / meditation roots, partly to keep myself limber and also to stop myself from falling into a panic and applying for every available job that I see.  I'm going to take some time to think about what I want to do next, and where I want to do it. I never did decide what I wanted to do when I grew up, but I've done some pretty cool stuff all the same.  I'm feeling optimistic about this year, and the changes it will bring.  Watch this space.
